OUR MINISTRY

Since 2011

Pastor John Blatzheim and his wife Barbie are missionaries to Indianapolis, sent by Reliant Mission. John is currently stationed at Wheeler Mission Ministries in downtown Indianapolis and has been encouraged and enabled by Wheeler and the MissionToConnect board to connect with those in homelessness and at risk of becoming homeless. What started as a 10-person Bible study in the basement of an apartment complex on the near east side of Indianapolis has blossomed into a ministry of folks who “go ye therefore” and spread the love of Jesus Christ around Indianapolis.

For Pastor John, it’s about doing life together - it’s a genuine investment in his community, its inhabitants, and their happiness, their well-being, and their walk with Jesus.

Our Mission

To build a strong community of people who support, encourage, care for, and watch out for the well-being of each other. People who reach out in love to others in the community in such a powerful way that those practicing self-destructive behaviors will find it difficult to continue, and the near east side will be transformed! 

Referencing the diagram, we go out and find people who would not come to a traditional church, develop a relationship through Bible studies, food pantries, prison ministries, as well as meeting their physical needs, and invite them to church. We then can meet their spiritual needs and send them out to develop relationships, becoming fishers of men that disciple and love.
